Roofing projects by type of job

Six projects, one for each kind of work customers ask us for most. Open one to see the roof before, during and after.

• New slate roof: natural slate, valleys and lead flashing around a brick chimney, finished with terracotta pots against the sky.
• Flat roof with roof lantern: a new felt flat roof carrying a glazed lantern, the kind of extension roof that lets daylight into the room below.
• Tiled re-roof: new membrane, battens and brown interlocking tiles, valleys included, laid course by course.
• Hip roof replacement: hip timbers framed, battens fixed over membrane and a finished hipped tile roof with a new ridge.
• Chimney and lead work: an old stack taken down and rebuilt, pots bedded on fresh mortar, and stepped lead flashing fitted to a brick wall.
• Fascias, soffits and guttering upgrade: white uPVC fascias, soffits and barge boards with black guttering and downpipes.

These photos are taken on the roof and from the scaffold while the work happens. You see the breathable membrane, the battens and the lead flashings that disappear under the finish, as well as the finished roof.
